The Adoption Fee is listed on the profile of each cat
(payable by cash, check or PayPal)

EVERY cat we offer for adoption has already been spayed/neutered, been given age-appropriate vaccines, and been dewormed and micro chipped. All adoption fees go directly to Rescued for Life, Inc. to help pay for medical expenses, spaying/neutering, transportation, boarding, and training.

Requirements

  • Adopters must be at least 21 years of age.

  • Renters will need to provide written proof of permission to keep pets in their rental space.

  • Adopters who live in a condo, townhouse or mobile home are required to bring a copy of their respective Homeowners Association’s (or similar governing body’s) regulations or bylaws.

Adoption Procedures
STEP ONE: Think it through. Do you have the time, energy and resources to devote to a new pet? Are you committed to caring for the cat for the next 10-15 or more years? Do you know what kind of cat would be best for your household?  Choosing the right cat.

STEP TWO: Browse our website and choose a potential candidate. If you see a cat you think would be a good match,  please use the link below to fill out the Adoption Application Form.

After we have received your application, we will contact you to arrange a meet and greet, followed by a home check. If you decide to proceed with the adoption, the RFLboard members will need to approve the adoption.

STEP THREE: Adoption Contract. Once approved, you will need to finalize your adoption by completing an adoption contract and paying the adoption fee in cash, check, or with PayPal (see list of adoption fees at the top of each cat’s page).

STEP FOUR: Rescued for Life, Inc. is committed to its rescue cats for their entire lifetime. Therefore, once a cat is adopted, RFL reserves the right to:

  • Check on the cat at any time to ensure its well-being.

  • Remove the cat from the home if any conditions of the adoption contract have been violated or, if in the opinion of RFL, the environment is unsafe.

  • If at any time you decide you cannot keep the adopted cat for any reason, you must return it to Rescued for Life, Inc. and not to any other individual or shelter.

We cannot guarantee the health of any cats adopted. Please be aware that the cats available for adoption are rescue animals and, as such, have often been exposed to a variety of diseases. Like human illnesses, these disorders can have an incubation period of up to several weeks. If the cat you adopt shows signs of illness in the first weeks after it has been adopted, please inform us and take it to the Veterinarian for treatment.

If you choose to use a vet contracted with RFO, RFL will cover the costs of any visits and treatments for up to four weeks after the adoption. Following this four-week time period, the adopter is responsible for all medical expenses. However, and under certain circumstances (which need to be approved), RFL may pay all or part of the cat’s medical care. Please remember we are always here to support you and answer any questions you may have.
